Sarah is a trumpet player who has studied and performed diverse repertoire in the styles of jazz, latin, funk, and classical music. She has been very fortunate to work with world class musicians, including Terri Lyne Carrington, Bria Skonberg, Harold Mabern, Christine Jensen, Wynton Marsalis, Jens Lindemann, Sean Jones, Dee Daniels, and many others. She has been in many honour groups in a range of genres, including the Honour Jazz Band at the 2019 British Columbia Music Educators Association conference, the Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra as part of Musicfest Canada in both 2019, 2020, and 2021, the National Youth Band of Canada, and the Sean Jones Cornerstone Jazz Orchestra, through Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse.

She held the position of Principal Trumpet in the Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2017 to 2020, and was the trumpet soloist of the Okanagan Irish Society in 2018 and 2019. She has attended camps and workshops throughout North America, including the Teagarden Traditional Jazz Camp in California, the Sitka Fine Arts Camp Jazz Intensive in Alaska, and the VSO School of Music Girls Jazz Workshop in British Columbia.
